Some might say that the English are notorious for their cuisine, which can’t possibly apply to desserts. They certainly know a thing or two about baking, and their traditional tea rooms, which serve scones with jam and clotted cream (or is it clotted cream first and jam second), have a unique charming feel to them.
When I wandered into this little café with lots of attractive cakes on display, I didn’t have any space left for any of them – after a Cornish pasty or two from a bakery at the seafront. So I thought it might be a sign that I should come back some day, which I wouldn’t mind at all – for I loved Dorset and its Jurassic Coast in particular.
